Surface technology process: Sealer / topcoats
When sealing, we create a thin organic or inorganic protective layer about 0.5-2 μm thick on zinc or zinc alloy coatings. Sealing is generally carried out on passivated surfaces, with the sealing penetrating the passivation layer and forming a composite layer. Depending on the sealant, the seal is applied wet-on-wet or after an intermediate drying. The sealing serves among other things. the increase in corrosion protection and the setting of coefficients of friction.
